    How much current will each of these appliances draw from a 120 V circuit?
    A.1200 W steam iron
    B.600 W, two-cup coffee maker
    C.60 W stereo
    D.40 W lamp

    What will happen if all the appliances listed in question above are used on the same 15 A circuit at the same time? Explain your answer.

      P = V*I
      1200 = 120 (A1); A1 = 10 A
      600 = 120 (A2); A2 = 5 A
      60 = 120 (A3); A3 = 1/2 A
      40 = 120 (A4); A4 = 1/3 A

      if (sum(A1:A4)) > 15 A), then (you blow the circuit)

      sum(A1:A4) = 15.8 A > 15; you blew the circuit
